Dear Mr. Smyth,
Donabate Parish Council would like to make the following submission with respect to Fingal County Council’s draft report setting out the Revised Assessment of Needs 2005-2012 for its Water Service Investment Programme.
Donabate Parish Council is adamant that no further residential development should take place on the Donabate Portrane peninsula until the infrastructure has first been put in place. We request that the Water Services Department of Fingal County Council advise against and resist any move to build further residential developments on the Donabate Portrane peninsula until drinking water treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and disposal and stormwater management, including collection and disposal, has been fully catered for.
We note the planned Portrane regional wastewater treatment plant, and the orbital sewer from Portrane to west Dublin, as highlighted by the Greater Dublin Strategic Drainage Study. We ask the Water Services Department that disruption to the Donabate Portrane community is kept to a minimum during the construction of the above mentioned projects.
